Meet Michael D’Amato
Michael D’Amato is a Client Partner at Whitman Partners, where he works with healthcare leaders to identify and place high-impact talent across surgical services.
Prior to Whitman, Michael built his career in casting across film and television as an Associate Casting Director at Hopkins Ingram Casting. He is an Artios Award recipient from the Casting Society of America for The United States vs. Billie Holiday, directed by Lee Daniels, and contributed to the Emmy Award-winning limited series When They See Us, directed by Ava DuVernay. His casting work spans acclaimed film and television projects and centers on identifying and shaping talent for complex productions. This experience informs his approach to executive search, with an emphasis on precision, judgment, and long-term fit.
He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and attended LaGuardia High School (The Fame School). A performing arts high school known for producing generations of notable actors, musicians, and creatives. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where outside of work he is a competitive kickball player, enjoys karaoke, and is probably rewatching the TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
