Meet Dan Ryan
Dan Ryan joined Whitman Partners in 2023 as the Controller.
Dan was born and raised in Glendale, Arizona. He earned his BS in Finance from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. After a couple years working as a stockbroker, 2008 happened and he decided to go back to school to get his accounting degree and an MBA. After starting out in public accounting, Dan moved to Portland, Oregon to work in the software industry where he spent nearly 10 years working for some of Portland’s best-known startups like Puppet and Zapproved.
In his free time, Dan loves getting outdoors any way he can – hiking, camping, backpacking, and even the occasional triathlon. When not outside, he loves playing board games of all kinds with anyone he can con into sitting down with him.
Fun Facts:
- Dan used to co-host a Saturday morning business radio show.
- As if being an accountant isn’t nerdy enough, Dan really upped the ante and got into ham radio during the pandemic.
- No matter what his wife and kids say, his Jeep is awesome and works just fine!
