Staff Accountant

Meet Aurora Sanquilly

Aurora Sanquilly is a staff accountant at Whitman Partners, joining the team in May 2024 after a fulfilling career in finance and accounting.

Originally from Alabama, Aurora moved to Oregon as a young child and has lived throughout the state, calling Portland her home for several years. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Accountancy and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, both from the University of Phoenix.

Aurora’s professional journey began in her early 20s in accounting, where she steadily advanced to the position of Controller. For the past 17 years, she served as a Controller or Director of Finance in various industries, gaining valuable experience. Facing a crossroads in her career, Aurora chose to prioritize her personal passions and well-being over pursuing a CFO title. This led her to Whitman Partners, where she enjoys a role that allows her to maintain a healthy work-life balance and be part of a great team.

Outside of work, Aurora is an enthusiastic gardener, growing her own organic food. She is a Master Herbalist and has been practicing medicinal herbalism since she was 14. Dancing is another passion of hers, especially belly dancing, and she is excited to start learning Salsa this year.

Aurora’s decision to join Whitman Partners was a deliberate one, made to prioritize her personal happiness and well-being. She appreciates the company’s positive culture and the opportunity to enjoy life again.
