Build Connection with a Culture Club
Right before Todd Currier came on board at Bend Surgery Center in 2021, the organization had lost a lot of staff due to vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. Despite that, the center was growing rapidly and couldn’t afford to lose more people. So, Currier created a “Culture Club” to help generate comradery and encourage connection among staff.
“Our facility created a ‘Culture Club’. It’s a staff driven club that works on a variety of different things within our organization. We held a chili cook off a few months ago. The club has helped to create camaraderie and keep our staff connected to each other even as our department has grown from two procedure rooms to six”.
